Lorena Galvis, DVM

Originally from Colombia, Doctor Galvis grew up in a city called Manizales located in the high-altitude coffee region of the Colombian Andes. She followed her dream to help animals in need and attended Veterinary School. After graduating, she moved to the US to be with her husband Ryan.

While studying for her veterinary equivalency exams to practice medicine in the U.S., Dr. Galvis worked at clinics in Madison including the Humane Society, a spay and neuter clinic, and a general practice clinic as a veterinary technician. Then, once she had her license as veterinarian, she completed a one-year internship focused in emergency and critical care at one of the local emergency clinics and she also worked at a general and urgent care practice in the area for a few years before joining Spring Harbor Animal Hospital

Dr. Galvis lives at her home in Madison with her husband and her two daughters Lucia and Eliana, they have a big goofy dog named Rigo (Rigoberto) and a smaller very active silly dog named Pony. They enjoy spending time together doing outdoor activities including hiking and camping and they also enjoy traveling every time they can.
